Step-by-Step Guide to Buying Your Machu Picchu Ticket
Buying your ticket online is the safest and most reliable way to enter Machu Picchu.
Follow these detailed steps to make sure you get the correct ticket directly from the official Peruvian government website.

Official Websites
•         Main Portal: https://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/
•         Ticket Platform: https://tuboleto.cultura.pe/disponibilidad/llaqta_machupicchu

 Step 1: Go to the Official Website
Open: https://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/
You’ll see a red menu bar at the top. Click: Purchase of Tickets
 
 Step 2: Scroll Down and Click on:  Tu Boleto Cultura
On the Purchase of Tickets page, scroll down until you see this blue link:
 Click on: https://tuboleto.cultura.pe/disponibilidad/llaqta_machupicchu 
It will take you to the official ticket platform of the Ministry of Culture of Peru, called Tu Boleto Cultura.

Step 3: Choose the Date of Your Visit
Once on tuboleto.cultura.pe:
•         Select “Machu Picchu - Llaqta” (the archaeological site).
•         Then click on the calendar icon.
•         Choose your month and day.
  Important: Tickets often sell out several months in advance, especially for Circuit 2, so book early.

Step 4: Choose Your Circuit and Entry Time
After choosing your date:
•         Select “Circuit 2” (recommended – the most complete route).
•         Pick your entry time (for example, 6:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., etc.).
You must enter within one hour of the time shown on your ticket.
If Circuit 2 is sold out:
•         Try Circuit 3, or
•         Choose Circuit 3 + Huayna Picchu (for the mountain climb), or
•         Circuit 3 + Huchuy Picchu (a shorter, easier hike).

Step 5:  Select the Number of Visitors
•         Choose the number of visitors in each category:
Adult, Student, or Child.
•         Then click “Availability” to see how many spaces are left.
If no spaces appear, try another time slot or date.

Step 6: Fill in Traveler Information
You’ll see a form for each visitor.
Enter the following details exactly as they appear on the passport:
•         Full Name (same as passport, no nicknames)
•         Nationality
•         Passport Number
•         Date of Birth
•         Email Address
  Important Tips:
•         Double-check all spelling , the information must match your passport exactly.
•         Each ticket is personal and non-transferable.
•         If you renew your passport before the trip, bring both the old and new passports.

Step 7:  Payment Process
After filling out the form, click “Continue to Payment”.
You’ll be redirected to the Visa payment gateway (Niubiz).
Once payment is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message on screen.


Step 8: Receive Your Ticket by Email
After the payment goes through, you’ll receive an email from:
  “no-reply@cultura.gob.pe”
with your PDF ticket attached.
This may take 5–10 minutes, so check your Spam or Junk folder if you don’t see it immediately.

Step 9:  Download and Print Your Ticket
Download your PDF ticket and print it, or save a copy on your phone.
You’ll need to show:
•         Your ticket
•         Your passport
at the Machu Picchu entrance gate.

✅ Final Tips

•         Always verify that your ticket says: “Machu Picchu – Circuit 2”.

•         Tickets are valid only for the selected date and time.

•         You cannot change the date once purchased.

•         Bring your original passport (copies or photos are not accepted).

•         If you buy through the official site, the ticket price is lower than with agencies.
